Welcome Back Sis!

My sister, Carolyn, gave us all quite the scare. Two weeks ago she had not been feeling well and Ken, her hubby came in from work and found her unconscious on the floor in their bedroom. She has spent the first several days in the hospital in a coma before waking. They ran all kinds of tests and believe it was viral encephalitis caused by the flu virus. It was very scary the first few days, not knowing if she would make it, or be permanently brain damaged. The thought of never sitting down with my sister again and having a normal conversation and laughing was scary.

We still don't know how long or if she will fully recover. She did "wake up" and seem to understand better what was going on last Wednesday. and has made a lot of progress. Her personality is a little "off". (lack of boundaries is normal with any kind of head trauma) She is usually kind of reserved, but she was being really silly and doing a jig up the hall as they were trying to get her to "walk" LOL!

She and I were on the same wave length though. I realized I had no recent pictures of her and a I together and thought, if she came out of this ok, I would do what I could to remedy that. It was interesting... One of the first things she spoke to me about was wanting to go get "sister" pictures. I'll have to admit she had some interesting thoughts.(Wanted to leave the hospital for a little while to go get them was one thought) I think she was still thinking a wee bit foggy.
But it was soooooooo good to have her back.

I want to thank everyone for all they did, as I couldn't get away till later in the week. For Jennica leaving her little family and going and being there a few days and staying with Sis all night long, soothing and calming her as she tossed in nightmare land. Thank you to Boyd, Carolyn's son and his wife, Jamie, for going there as well and for Jamie getting right up on the bed to hold her and keep her calm. For Ken, her hubby being so loving and supportive. And thank you to her friends that also went to see and sit with her. It is nice to know she is so loved. All the prayers given for her are appreciated as well. They have been impressed with how well she is doing, after waking up. They have her in the rehab unit to make sure she can walk steady, dress and do basic care of herself.
Thank the Lord for miracles!

I love ya sis, welcome back :)
